No Dogs Allowed!

Dogs are not allowed on the furniture in our home.  I want to be clear about that. We have a very strict rule against Champ laying on the couch and he does not sleep in our bed, or in anyone's but his own as far as I know.

But it's been cold this winter.  If you know how quickly that heavy, furry body can warm you on a cold day, you'd probably be inclined to break the rules, too.  The problem is, as often happens with people and dogs, he's starting to really enjoy breaking the rules.  (I mean Champ but that probably goes for Jake, too.)

Snow on the Ground, Day 5

This is a picture of the snow that's still on the ground in our backyard, going into day five after the massive blizzard of 2011.  When you finally get out of the house after being snowbound for days, you can hear lots of people talking about how crazy it is to have snow on the ground for so long in South Carolina.  There are piles of dirty snow stacked in parking lots and on the sides of roads that were scraped earlier this week. That's a sight you don't see often around here.  I would even go so far as to say I have never seen it in this part of the state.  The cars covered in a salty haze is another odd sight.
